Healthy Starts is a unique health education program that is created by a health educator who specializes in assessing health needs of a population, creating a program to address these needs, implements the program and gathers feedback and statistics to show growth, value and improvement among the population receiving the program. Healthy Starts has been created for students grades TK-12 and offers grade appropriate health education lessons according to a states health education standards. Kids are unhealthier than ever before and yet they don't receive health education until a few lessons are briefly taught in middle school science class. Students then receive one semester of health in high school. Given the health of American youth and the research on benefits of school health education, this is not enough. Healthy Starts for Schools aims to fill this void and has been recognized for doing so.
